Onsdag i billeder -- Wednesday's Pictures

When making birch syrup, you separate it by pouring off the first liter of 5, it is cold and heavy, and when the rest of the sap has to get out it is a slow thing. Today I invented this impromptu hold up a jar-thingie. It works OK, and has been supplemented with a couple of rubber bands since.

I dag vegetabilsk morgenfruesæbe.

Soap of the day. The season for Farmers' markets begins May 10th. Get soaping! Today a marigold soap without aimal fats - but still with honey and bees' wax. I did not add any colouring. It's only from the marigold infused oils. It looked like this in the beginning.

A bit boring, I thought, I grabbed a skewer and made small doodles to my hearts content.

Today's bread made with birch sap. It is bigger and more golden than our standard bread.

    1. Sounds nice, nothing to beat the smell of freshly baken bread and fresh ground coffee :)
Do you have birch trees at your place? The easy way to make birch sap is to cut a branch as thick as a finger, tie a bottle to the branch and remember to empty it. After a couple of days the wound will close.

    1. If I ever come to Australia I promise to bring a frozen bottle of Birch sap - I just imagined myself trying to explain the security people that frozen birch sap for Sue Elvis in no way is a risk to security :D

  3. Smager det så af noget, i brødet?
