Sommerbilleder -- Summer Photos

We're on vacation, or rather staycation. We read, eat cake, go for a bike ride and generally relax. Sometimes big events happen; a visit to a big flea market or to the beach, shopping in the nearest "big" city or a birthday.
As always MotherOwl snaps photos of happenings big and small. Here's a collection from the latest 2 weeks.

Vores nye stoppested.  Our brand new bus stop.

Regnbuer i storbyen -- Rainbows in the city

Boremel på havebordet --  Wood dust on the garden table

Boremelet kommer fra grenen lige over bordet -- The wood dust comes from the dead branch over the table

Last year I tried to grow shiso, only one plant made it. But it spreads prolific now.

Nældesommerfugl. Sådan én har jeg aldrig set før.
A butterfly named Map. New to me and living off nettles!

Monkey trick. A childhood plaything re-found at a flea market.

A romantic view to a stable.

Sommeraften på landet -- Summer's evening in the countryside

Tidselfnug -- Thistledown

Et andet loppefund  --  another thing from the flea market

A yoke, long wanted, now found at the flea market.

Plant dyeing: the originally drab colour in the middle was dyed green with reed flowers or yellow with sorrel seeds. An improvement I think. Now it's time for a colour fatness test.

  1. A definite improvement, sure. The green from reed flowers is on my find-and-dye-to-do list (sigh).

    1. Thanks. I'm afraid reed flower dye is not lightfast at all. I dyed a skein last year, and I can not find it. Maybe the colour up and left ;)

  2. Uglemor,

I enjoyed looking at your photos. Blue skies, sunshine and lots of plants growing... it looks like you're having a good summer. I am especially interested in bus stops. We got two new ones not so long ago. They are quite grand considering the size of our village. Unfortunately, we will never use them. We always drive to town in our own car because the bus service isn't very good. There aren't many buses each day unless you count the school ones. I hope you're having a relaxing summer!

    1. We have now - pure luxury - 3 buses every hour form 6 morning until 7 in the evening. Later (not during the night), and Saturday and Sunday we have only one bus an hour. And before the new bus stops were made, we had to walk along the road. You can't see it in the epicure, but it's narrow and winding. The cars and great lorries drive by very quickly, we're all afraid to walk there. Our car is not running any more, so we're very happy about the new stops.

  3. Sikken en masse aktivitet disse fredfyldt billeder dækker over! ;-)

    1. Ikke så galt endda, husk, det er fordelt over næsten to uger. Vi holder altså sommerferie :)
