Maybe this November thing has to be renamed "Who's inspiring MotherOwl?". Today we visit Karna Maj, who writes a great blog on gardening and self sufficiency all year round. Exactly the kind of thing, MotherOwl rebelled against back in February.
Some days ago Karna Maj told us how she washed her greenhouse and planed her kale there to grow all winter. Well, MotherOwl's kale is not growing, but a lot of salad plants actually sprouted some months ago, the slugs did not eat them - oh wonder! and now they could be transplanted to the dome to grow there.
Salaten gror nu i domen. -- Salad now growing in the dome. |

As can be seen, MotherOwl found out how to separate the small plants better with time and practice. The salad is planted where the cucumbers grew. The rest of the dome still looks like this:
Vildnis -- Jungle |
Hvis man ser godt efter, gror der nemlig stadigvæk små, meget velsmagende tomater.

If you take a closer look, small orange tomatoes still grow there. And they are very tasty.
Vi ser godt efter. Closer look taken. |
Hvis vi nu vender os om, gror der en af de planter, der kun kommer, når Uglemor ikke luger grundigt nok til at gøre Haveuglen tilfreds.
If we turn around we find one of those plants only growing when MotherOwl do not weed enough to please GardenOwl.
Oba -- Grøn shiso -- Green Perilla |
Uglemor kan naturligvis bedre lide den røde, men dem gror ikke i år.

Of course MotherOwl would have preferred the red variety, but you can't have everything.
En radise i blomst. Måske når der at komme flere skulper. A flowering radish. Maybe we'll harvest more crisp seed pods (siliques is the right name, I just found out). |
Uglemor,
SvarSletI'm wondering what your outside temperature is. It must be nice and warm inside your greenhouse dome because you have lots of growing plants even though it is no longer summer!
We haven't as yet - the 5th of November - had any sub-zero degrees, but they're bound to come soon. Night-temperatures are 3-5 degrees and in the days around 13 when it is hottest. The frost normally arrives in the autumn holidag (week number 42 - middle October). But not this year.
