After reading about dyeing with sorrel (or dock) seed, MotherOwl just had to try: Fill a glass with seeds, water and a tsp washing soda ... well the washing soda had gone missing, so soaking for a day, the heating to only 63 degrees - hooray for the wonderful pot. Then the yarn was wet and put in and heated to 63 degrees for 2 hours. The result was a satisfying deep orange colour, But the water seemed to hold much more dye, once again, but it only turned an orage-peachy colour.
A last try, heating to the normal 80 degrees was planned, but did not happen, as a distracted MotherOwl poured out the water when guests arrived.
