Mandag 30. juli
Ugleboets Zeppeliner -- Our Zeppelin |
Monday, July the 30th MotherOwl had forgotten her camera, it was quite stupid, as the scenery was rather dramatic. We wanted to go swimming, so when the morning's rain was over, the inhabitants of the Owlery had their morning coffee in the garden, and then we went off to the beach in our Zeppelin.
The air was chilly, but it was warm in the sun and the water was as hot as ever (18 degrees). We swam with the sun shining upon us. All the wavelets had white foam on the tops. Above us the sky was blue with fluffy clouds, but over the sea to the south hung storm clouds, heavy and dark. They came nearer and nearer, while we splashed and swam in the "warm" water. The air turned cold as the clouds covered the sun, and a heavy wind started to blow. We got out of the water. Urhg, that was nasty. The chilly wind whipped the sand against our wet bodies. It was cold and uncomfortable. We had to help the Walrus and the Owlets to get fressed, Then we dragged Walrus up into the Zeppelin, while the Owlets picked up our beach things and carried all the bags. They needed no invitations to hurry into the car. As we closed the doors, the first drops fell. We drove home through light rain. MotherOwl made hot cocoa, and MiniMax laid the table while it rained more and more, and we enjoyed the warm drink and getting warm again while it poured down outside.
