When surfing the net, reading blogs and following peoples' doings on Facebook, you see lots of strange things. Most of them just make you shake your head and read on, but in the last few days, MotherOwl has found some pictures to make her want strange clothing :)
Se nu bare her.

Number one: Swants; who would dream of making pants from an old sweater? Well somebody did:

The other picture was found at Makiko Itoh's Facebook. No this is not a portrait of Makiko, but a photo salute to the photographer's grandmother. It's a wonderful series of a grandma and her odd-eyed cat Fukumaru . I hope the link below the picture is to the original series.
When you're through admiring grandma's spunk and sheer pleasure at life, then please note her boots. Ninja boots - called jikatabi. MotherOwl wants a pair of those!

When I grow old, you'll see me tending my garden dressed in jikatabi and swants
SletUglemor,
SvarSletI love those pants! We shall be eccentric old women, wearing strange clothes and we won't care what anyone thinks! I have a skirt book that has a few ideas for making new skirts out of old ones. I like the one that uses the top part of a denim skirt added to a flounce that is really the long sleeves of a shirt made from a soft floaty fabric.
We sure shall be that, and married to excentric old men with strange hats. I too like long floaty skirts, but not for gardening. Denim and floaty sounds ideal for summer partyes.
