Frost in the night according to the forecast. The frost proofing was in 2 parts. Part one. Harvest all vegetables not able to withstand a night below zero.
Not so very much to harvest One strange pumpkin, maybe just not ripe, 4 tomatoes from the green house, and 5 corn cobs with popping corn. The Owlets find it cool that popping corn is a different type from the ones normally eaten in the Owlery. We do not have any normal ones this year.A squash was put away before it had its picture taken. Tondo di Nizza, a round green striped one.
Part two is an old duvet, which the Writer uses to cover up the apples and assorted vegetables placed outside. Naturally this will not be sufficient once winter sets in, but for the traditional "one night to destroy our garden-frost" in the autumn holidays (next week) it is fine.
