Every Monday is Poetry Monday.
Mimi of Messymimi's Meanderings and I have taken over the hosting duties, mostly the supplying of the prompts - only temporarily we hope - while Diane at On the Border is taking a break for health and relaxation, travelling the world with her husband as far as we can tell.
We just hope she's going to take back over once she returns home.
I have something to ask of you: If you read this and the poetry of others via the links, would you please leave a comment.
Half - if not more - the fun of these challenges is receiving the responses of others.
This Monday we've been given Steam. I made two strange items using this word. First a short poem.
I see steam rising
what can it be?
A train, a dragon,
or coffee for me?
Then a WordLit once again. I re-arranged the letters in the word Steam, and then this here crazyness happenened- - - - - -
Up and coming:
March 17: Steam (today)
March 24: Orange
March 31: Turn
April 7: Road
April 14: Bring
April 21: Free
April 28: Jam

I've never thought of the many kinds of steam, only the hot drink kind :)
SvarSletI don't really understand wordles and I don't know why. I like other word puzzles like crosswords. I think a different skill is required.
Wordle is more like MasterMind than crosswords, and I always liked that game more than crosswords. I think it is partially another set of skills, but still you need a lot of language to solve any of those.
SletAh yes, Mastermind - we played it sometimes when our kids were younger. I always found it hard. Maybe that means it's something I should try to do more often, not avoid! That's what happened with me and Sudoku - I used to dislike them because I couldn't figure them out. But I became determined to learn, and have improved. Thanks for your insights into this.
SletBeautifully done! The steam from the cup of coffee is my favorite.
SvarSletI would not say no to steam from a dragon either ;)
SletI don't see how lasso comes from those letters. I do love seeing steam rising from my coffee cup, I don't like cold coffee.
SvarSletHot, steamy coffee is the best!
SletLasso is simply the solution - I cannot stop to try and solve it. After running out of scrambled Steam-words for my WordLit, I sat down and thought with pencil & paper, and guessed the solution to be lasso - totally unrelated to the Steam-words ;)
Or maybe the Steam team's mates used a lasso to catch their meats to tame ;)
