Words for Wednesday :: July 10 :: The Words

This meme was started by Delores a long time ago.  Troubles led her to bow out, but the meme was too much fun to let go, and now Words for Wednesday is provided by a number of people and has become a movable feast with Elephant's Child as our coordinator.

Essentially the aim of this meme is to encourage us to write.  Each week we are given some prompts. These prompts can be words, phrases, music or images.

Some of us put our creation in comments on the post, and others post on their own blog. This fun meme includes cheering on the other participants.

And the more the merrier goes here as well, so if you are posting on your own blog then please tell us in the comments, so that all other participants, can come along and applaud.

This post goes live at 16.01 Tuesday my time. I have found out - hopefully now correct - that this is when Wednesday begins in Canberra.

For today the prompt are:
Agile
Bleak
Comfort
Dull
Even
Full

  1. Hi Charlotte - all the words linked to the photo ...

That agile man standing high on the cliff – yet there looms a huge shadow of a man. The position did not look comfortable, actually it looked bleak … but he couldn't relax in the apparently dull landscape, he was thrashing around … it was most definitely not even – just look at that landscape.

Also that shadow … what did it mean … what was it … real or his mind going off the rails. He'd always been full on – but this was ridiculous. She couldn't make head of tail of nightmares … nor particularly his life – perhaps she should not worry … just keep an eye on him, until he wakes.

Life has its interesting takes ... cheers Hilary

    1. Hilary Melton-Butcher: Dreams are tricky beasts. If he falls in his dream (or hers) what does it signify...

    2. Nicely done Hilary, I hope in his nightmare he doesn't fall.

    3. I occasionally have a nightmare when I'm falling - thankfully never land! I wake up feeling somewhat shaky ... not sure where this one goes! Cheers H

    4. There's no telling with some dreams, I hope they can figure out what it means and put it to use.

    5. Oof, sounds more nightmarish than dreamy to me. Thanks for participating.

  3. My backpack contained only water and a light jacket in case the dull weather turned to rain. Agile, I climbed the bleak peak in record time.
The views were spectacular but I took no comfort from that. Even here my heart and mind were full. Would she or wouldn’t she accept my proposal and the ring of light ivory I had offered her, or was the temptation of the diamonds my rival waved in front of her too much to turn down?

  8. It was a bleak, even dull day and because I was full from lunch I was not agile enough to get to a spot of comfort.

    1. Mike: I can always find a comfortable spot. Fortunately no agility is required.

    2. Hi Mike and EC - full tummies can be very uncomfortable ... especially if the day is bleak - or one has eaten into that scenario ... cheers H
