The prompts now come from 365 Days of Drawing Prompts and other Arts group. This is a Facebook group with a prompt for each day of the year, but no worries, the prompts will still be here and at Mimi's blog.
Today's prompt is Favourite Animal.
My favourite animal is no secret. Owls of course. Here's a ramling poem on owls.
I am fond of owls,
An angry owl that scowls
And gentle owls in cowls,
A crabby owl that howls
A sneaky owl that prowls
I'm fond of every owl,
as long as they're not foul.

Stikordene kommer nu fra 365 Days of Drawing Prompts and other Arts.
Men se,
vi har sne.
Så sker det snart,
at uglerne smiler
til månen og iler
ud for at se
og lege med sne.

Owls are amazing, I like them, too.
SvarSletOwls are truly amazing
SletMy oldest daughter loves owls and in the past I have given one or two owl ornaments as gifts for her garden.
SvarSletOwl garden ornaments sound wonderful.
SletI have a soft spot for owls, too. I think it stems from when I was a child. We lived next to a huge chicken barn where my father worked. At some point, a small barn owl died (I don't know the details) and at the time there was a taxidermist in a nearby town. The owl was thus preserved and we had it on a shelf in the living room for many years. Yes, I know, rather macabre in hindsight, but it made me appreciate the wonder of that species. Its head feathers were the softest thing I had ever felt.
SvarSletKudos for keeping Poetry Monday alive, Charlotte (and Mimi)!
I have a stuffed owl watching over me from a shelf as I sit here. I think it's a cat owl. I don't find it macabre in the least way. My oldest son found a dead (frozen)hawk and had that one stuffed too. I hope he still has it.
SletThank you, I hope you're going to participate again some day, I miss your poems.
PS: Praying for you in these days.
SletOwls are my spirit animal so I love this poem, especially the different and endless variety you portray so well.

Thank you.
SletIf I have a spirit animal - not something I contemplated before - I'm sure it is an owl, the big horned owl (Eagle owl) to be specific.
Anonymously Esther O'Neill, no signal, still, google doesn't understand that I can't pick up security texts.
SvarSletOfficial road signs run out long before the road reaches our house, but the tubs of vitamins for the sheep are scarlet. Just like last January, we have snow, but people seem surprised !
,
It is indeed strange that everybody everywhere seem surprised by snow in winter ;)
