Sommertiden er slut! End of DST

Even though it is harder to see here on YR than it was on the lost and mourned BedreVejr, DST ends tonight.
Notice that left of the blue arrow all hours are the even ones, and after it's only the odd ones, so instead of stretching the graphics, like Bedre Vejr (Better Weather) did they do it in this sneaky way.
But no matter how it makes me really happy. Tomorrow and tomorrow, and for many days after the sun will be in the skies, or almost there when the alarm goes off. The Writer can again bike to the station without using his super-light, and my inner Owl is happy, as my time now again fits the clock. I am no longer going to wake up an hour before the alarm goes off - no, I do not know why on Earth DST does this to me, but it does. Slowly, in the coming week, my inner alarm will recalibrate itself, and wake me up around 10 minutes before the alarm goes off, as it does all winter. I so look forwards to undisturbed sleep again.
News from the EU commission gives me hope that this idiocy will soon be a thing of the past.

  1. I'm glad for you DST ends soon. I wish we could get rid of it altogether, maybe if Europe is smart and does so, the US will finally figure it out.

  2. I wish we could get rid of this time insanity. Ours is deferred to after Halloween. Follow the money, ha! It annoys me every single time.

    1. That was a late shift back to normal time indedd. When DST begun in Denmark it lasted roughly from spring to autumn equinox. Some EU smartasses prolonged it a month, which makes for a very "feelable" shift back to normal time. It annoys me all summer, - I never really get used to the Spring shift before it's time to change back. That shift bothers me way less, and in a week I feel OK again.

  3. I don't remember why daylight saving was introduced but I wish they'd stop it. It just seems senseless and serves no real purpose.

    1. It was done for economicla purposes, with light in the evening instead of in the morning made people use less electricity. In Denmark these savings are mostly eaten up by the more ligkt in the mornings the last month after autumn equinox, plus there's so many negatives elsewhere.
It does not any longer serve any purpose (except to irritate us), and I hope this was its last season.
