Papir -- Paper

Today I finally made paper from the wheatgrass that I stashed when making Sweet woodruff-scented soap.I made 3 sheets, the first and the last being the best. The first because there was still enough pulp in the water, and the third because I, in an effort to use up the pulp, made a paper from several layers. The middle sheet is too thin, I guess, and will be recycled once I do this again.

A new batch of treasure hunter pouches has come to be. This time with a coloured rim and a white bag. I like them, and am considering frogging the multicoloured one to make many rims for white pouches. Or maybe not white, but another contrasting colour, as I'm running out of white.
The red and blue yarns are a part of the stash I inherited from my MIL 14 years ago.

  • The blue is already given away, and the same will happen to the other ones, I'm sure.

  1. Uglemor,

I have a papermaking book with recipes for making paper using all sorts of different natural fibres. Your post has inspired me. I am off to hunt down that book and actually use it. The last batch of paper I made must have been at least 15 years ago. All the equipment must be somewhere in the garage. I shall go and look!

    1. That suonds good. I hope that lots of good paper materials are growing in your surroundings. I'm just experimenting - and this was my first try, if you're not counting a supervised paper making for the children I - and the Owlets of course - participated in 6 years or so ago. Paper making is fun, and I hope to see some Australian paper soon.
