Flittig uge -- Productive week

Saturday we once again had a clean the village-day. We hurried to see and play in the hideout before the big, log-eating monster ate it.

Some of the felled trees were full of Xanthoria parietina MotherOwl was not able to wihtstand the temptation and filled her cookie box to the brim with it. Marsupilami luckily brought his (my) pocket knife. When we returned home it was set to steeping in ammonia next to the Oak moss.

Sunday after mass we enjoyed the flowers in our garden. The  Summer snowflakes were blooming. Later on we baked bread. MotherOwl's stomach friendly bread is sprinkled with poppy seeds from our own poppies.

Monday afternoon we weeded the garden. it was very cold and windy. We had to stop before our fingers froze, but we made it around our new apple tree.

Even if it's freezing cold, the Owlets will play. Trolli built this sea monster from old bones found in the compost heap.

MotherOwl continued her Japanese cooking by trial and error. This pan is put together from a baking tin and a handle. It worked fine! I was making tamagoyaki - Japanese fried egg roll.

Tuesday we continued weeding the garden. It was cold, but the Owlets freed the paths and MotherOwl put up a place to put rakes, shovels etc.

 - - - - -
MotherOwl's electric drill/screwdriver was not charged, or rather run dry very fast, but Wednesday it was fully charged. Trolli mended one of the gates, while MotherOwl and the smaller Owlets put up our egg selling bee hive.

We also saw a violet in the garden.

... even if it was cold and sleet was falling at one time this was a busy spring week in the Owlery.

  1. Uglemor,

You did so much! I guess the snowflakes and the violets are an early sign of spring, though it sounds like your weather is still very cold. I would be tempted to stay inside if there was a cold wind blowing. I am not nearly as hardy as you! I think you must enjoy gardening very much. I am looking forward to seeing your garden as everything starts to grown and bloom.
