Dear all. I see now that I have given the prompts for the wrong dates - Sundays, not Mondays - for the rest of 2026. Blame it on my new PC, that does not show Sunday as the first day of the week.
I have now corrected them all.

Poetry Monday is a blogging challenge started by Diane @ On the Border in February 2017, and later it was picked up by Delores @ Mumblings and Jenny @ Procrastinating Donkey.
Then Dolores took over the hosting duties; but when Dolores left the internet, Diane returned and took over hosting duty again with her and Jenny taking turns suggesting a topic.
Now Mimi @ Messymimi's Meanderings
and I have taken over, as Diane has returned home from her travels some time ago, but seems disinclined to take up Poetry Monday again.
I find this sad, because she reached many more poetry-writing bloggers than Mimi and I do.
The prompts are now taken from 365 Days of Drawing Prompts and other Arts
group. This is a Facebook group with a (drawing) prompt for each day of the
year, but no
worries, the prompts will still be here and at Mimi's blog. And they mostly lend themselves perfectly for poeming as well.
Today's prompt is Moody. Together with past Friday's WfW - Right Now - it made me think of a poem Pia @ ColorCottage posted ... it's
almost 13 years ago! By Golly, time flies!
It is NOT my poem!
Dust If You Must
Dust if you must, but wouldn't it be better
To paint a picture, or write a letter,
Bake a cake, or plant a seed,
Ponder the difference between want and need?
Dust if you must, but there's not much time,
With rivers to swim, and mountains to climb,
Music to hear, and books to read,
Friends to cherish, and life to lead.
Dust if you must, but the world's out there
With the sun in your eyes, and the wind in your hair,
A flutter of snow, a shower of rain.
This day will not come around again.
Dust if you must, but bear in mind,
Old age will come and it's not kind.
And when you go - and go you must -
You, yourself, will make more dust.

Sunday or Monday, the point was for us to not have to wrack our own brains to come up with prompts, and it works. Thanks for the correction and while I love this poem and agree when dealing with my own house, sometimes dusting for clients is what puts groceries on the table here, so then I must dust!
SvarSletWhat put me off was that the dates were wrong, and correcting all the dates was more work than just copying the correct propmts :D
SletDusting as a work is I suppose not what's aimed at in this poem ;)
I love the poem and don't mind at all that it isn't yours.
SvarSletThank you. I have it hanging in a place, where I do not often see it, and take the time to read it, whenever I go there.
