Poetry Monday :: Name your Car

It is Poetry Monday!
Diane - who has taken over the hosting of  this challenge - and Mimi of Messymimi's Meanderings - who supplies us with many of the topics - are also writing wonderful, funny, thought-provoking, ingenious and honestly well written verse. Go and read them!
Karen of Baking in a Tornado has joined us in this crazy pursuit, and promises us at least a poem a month!
SpikesBestMate often publishes a nice verse in the comments.
Jenny at Procrastinating Donkey who has been a faithful participant, is slowly returning to blogging after her husband's passing from this world. Let's continue to send warm thoughts, good energy, and lots of prayers her way, now that her mum's health is in need of a prayer too. But still we dare hope that she will join Poetry Monday again.

Todays theme is name your car. I hope this is what's meant:

Our cars had alvays had a name
- without a name it's not the same.
The fist was simply Daddy's ride,
it took us far it took us wide.

Then came Kuasy, funny name
was written on it when it came.
For holidays, for visits, quest
Kuasy was the very best.

For many years we had no car,
By bus and train we travelled far
Then came a tiny car called Mine
Though it was small, we managed fine.

But families they grow in size,
And cars do not, to their demise.
We went to Germany and had
Another car, the Ruby Jar.

But it grew old, as cars are wont
An even bigger car we found
The Zeppelin for many years
took us on journeys far and near.

The Zeppelin ran out of air.
Grey Whale instead was now our fare.
And as it floundered we agreed
A car-free life from now we'd lead.

    1. It's a mixed blessing actually. I never arrive tired and in need of an hour to myself when visiting any more., On the other hand there's thing we cannot do. We take a taxi when really necessary, not having a car gives us money for this, but not too far.

  2. Excellent names, fun poem. It would be nice to be able to go without a car, but where we live it is not practical.

    1. I fervently hope the bus service here does not get any worse, because then it won't be practical here either. Practical is probably the wrong word, a car would be practial and more, but possible is the right word.

  3. Our cars never had names, husband thought it was a silly idea, but a friend had a little old car named Jemima.

    1. We have nick names for all and sundry, friends, family, houses and cars, and hubby's the worst.
