What we do with those prompts is up to us: a short story, prose, a song, a poem, or treating them with ignore...
We can use some or all of the prompts, and mixing and matching is encouraged.
Some of us put our creation in comments on the post, and others post on their own blog. This fun meme includes cheering on the other participants.

EC’s life was humdrum. As a very ordinary citizen with no power, she felt hapless and hopeless in the current troubled times. She hoped (fervently) that the righteous would win, but it looked like a long and bloody battle with no guarantees. She looked up at the delicate filigree of tiny branches against the over arching grey sky and smiled. Those twigs were puny in comparison to the entire tree, but they had a quirky beauty all of their own. Today, she was going to take them as an omen, and refuse to despair…
