G for Glasskår

Ⓐ - Ⓩ

Every day at noon (except Sundays) a new A-Z post goes live - or no post today.
The theme for this year, is Dream - Duality. let's see what crosses my mind on this theme.

G for Glasskår / Broken Glass

Ingen regel uden undtagelser.

No rules without exceptions. Today's A-Z appears with a delay. I had to shoot a couple of photos first.
Slowly a new concept has emerged for my A-Z Challenge. For those days, where I do not already have a word, I consult a Random Word Generator. Today I had: Glasskår - Broken Glass. Broken glass is a P.I.T.A when you meet them here on a bike ride to somewhere.

Let's have a closer look, shan't we? This was a nice bottle yesterday, or the day before. Now they pose a hazard to my poor bike.

But if they're thrown into the sea and left there for a decade or two they end up like this. And that's another cup of tea entirely.

Now I collect them and hope to become good enough at weaving to make a curtain like this one.

  1. Ocean washed glass is indeed another thing entirely. And truly beautiful. Freshly 'minted' glass is something I do not like to see. Ever.

    1. No neither do I, and absolutely not while barefoot or biking.

  2. How delightful to find my way here to your post today. Beautiful but dangerous broken glass. Beautiful glass with sea-softened edges. And fabulous idea about a glass curtain. Such a lovely mix.

    1. Thank you. I'm trying to keep to the Dreams - Duality pattern of the A-Z challenge.

  3. We don't notice much of the sea-softened glass when we go to the beach. Freshly broken glass is hard to deal with, the other day a picture fell down the stairs and it took a long time to find all the bits.

    1. Yes it's getting less. sadly as I love it.
Freshly broken glass is evil. My mom taught me to use wet cotton wool to collect all those teeny tiny splinters even the vacuum does not really get.

  4. I love sea glass but just don't see any anymore.

    1. No, it's getting scarcer. People do not throw bottles overboard, ad what was is slowly being ground to sand by stone and waves.

  5. It's just like mother nature to turn something bad to something good. I like sea glasses, I guess I like how nature shaped and colored them.

    Have a lovely day.
