Fredagsfrustrationer - Agile

Some time ago I was considering buying a new word processor - Word and me have never been the best of friends, and their recent updates ... I downloaded a trial version, but something did not work as expected - something that for me was crucial in deciding whether to buy the word processor or not.
I wrote an email to the address provided, and attached the necessary screenshots, A, B and C.

Then Peter replied, "What happens if you do D?"
I do D and reply, "Hi Peter, F happens when I do D."

Then I get a reply from Marianne, who says: "Well, I need a screenshot of A and B to help you. And you need to be sure that you have X up and running on your computer."
Fortunately, I have saved my old screenshots, so I reply, "Hi Marianne, here's A and B again. X is up and running. What about when D leads to F?"

Reply from Allan: "Hi, you can just buy the program and it will probably work out - otherwise there is a 30 day return policy."

I did not buy the programme. And after a few similar experiences with the municipality, another software company and the post office, I think we've reached the next stage in the service society: Help yourself, because we're too busy being agile to take care of customers.

  1. Does your computer not come with Word already installed? And suited to your language too? I only use it to write letters and my Friday stories, so I don't have problems.

    1. Oh yes I have and use Word, as that is what most (all?) PCs come with - but before Word was a thing I Used WordPerfect, and I would like to again, as I'm working with words, texts and writing and WordPerfect did make a lot of the things I use every day faster, smarterr and generally just better. But the customer service from WordPerfect's company scared me off, as seen above.

  2. It's a sad state of affairs. Just buy it and it should work? No, thank you.
