The old hand crank sewing machine came with a green box full of accessories. Of course a normal presser foot, a zipper foot and a shirring foot - their uses are obvious. But the rest ... they looked scary in varying degrees. Some of the less scary were these two presser feet. Ons is called a binder. It makes and attaches bias tape in one go. It also works with pre-made bias tape. |

The other somewhat peaceful looking foot is a hemmer. It folds in a small hem and sews it. Very practical and efficient. |

De resterende fødder ligner små fabrikker. Uglemor kender ikke de danske navne på sådan nogle, og det er meget anstrengende at læse en engelsk brugsanvisning, hvor hvert andet ord skal slås op. Billederne her er klippet fra manualen. Måske burde jeg fotografere dem. Især den midterste ser meget imponerende ud.

The last of the feet looks like mini-machines. MotherOwl finds it very hard to try and decrypt the user's manual. Every 3rd word calls for a dictionary. Danish names for these beauties are so far unknown. The pictures are copy-pasted from the manual. Maybe a photo would be better. Especially the middle one looks very impressing in real life.

SvarSletI don't think I had accessories with my old sewing machine. They must have been lost somewhere along the way. You have a real treasure. They make the machine quite sophisticated.
I'd like a gathering foot for my modern machine. I have to sew a couple of lines of loose stitches and then gather up the fabric and this is very time-consuming. Yes, I'd love an attachment to make this process easier!
I'm impressed with your binding skills. I'm not very good when it comes to attaching bias tape!
When I was younger, I had granny's old machine. It did not have all these fancy accessories either, only normal and zipper foot. I need to practise a lot with these new treasures, for sure.
SletBinding - when it's not curved or more layers of fabric - is ridiculously easy with this binder foot. Normally I sew the first half by machine, and the second by hand. But this foot manages all in one. Love it, but I need much more practise, as I never was the sewing kind.
This vintage sewing machine can do all what I could do on my cheap machine - only not zigzag - but then a lot more with all these accessories.
Jeg har også en pokkers masse fødder, som jeg håber at få lært om, det er virkelig smart. Fx. har jeg altid hadet lynlåse, men nu har jeg en fod til det, så det må jo prøves en dag.
SvarSletJeg elsker de gamle symaskiner. Hvis jeg havde plads, ville jeg have en 7-8 stykker forskellige. Alle de der sjove fødder er virkelig en udfordring. Jeg skal prøve og øve meget, før det bliver godt.
